Domains overview
Register, transfer, and manage domain names through the customer dashboard and Nisc Cloud website.
A domain name is your address on the internet for example yourbusiness.co.ke or yourbrand.com. Nisc Cloud lets you register new domains, transfer domains from other companies, and manage DNS and nameservers from the customer dashboard.
Where domains live in the dashboard
- Sign in at npanel.nisccloud.com.
- In the left sidebar under Cloud Services, click Domains.
- You see three sub-menus:
| Sub-menu | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Get a Domain | Search and buy a new domain |
| Transfer | Bring a domain you own elsewhere to Nisc Cloud |
| My Domains | List and manage domains already in your account |
Register vs transfer
Register when the name is available and nobody owns it yet (or you want a new TLD alongside an existing site).
Transfer when you already own the domain at another registrar and want Nisc Cloud to be the registrar going forward. You need the domain unlocked and an authorization (EPP) code from the old provider.
After you own a domain
Click My Domains, then click a domain name to open its detail page with tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Overview | Registration dates, status, and summary |
| DNS | A, CNAME, MX, TXT records pointing the domain to website and email |
| Nameservers | Which DNS servers control the domain (Nisc Cloud or external) |
| Protect Brand | Brand protection options where available |
See Domain portfolio for a full walkthrough of each tab.
