Nameservers

Nameservers decide which companyNisc Cloud's DNS system controls your domain. When you use Nisc Cloud nameservers, you edit records in Domains → My Domains → DNS or in Hosting → DNS. When you use Cloudflare or another hostNisc Cloud's nameservers, you edit DNS at that provider instead.

Open the nameservers settings

1. Sign in at npanel.nisccloud.com.
2. Click Domains → My Domains.
3. Click your domain name.
4. Click the Nameservers tab.
5. You see current nameserver hostnames and options to change them.

Use Nisc Cloud nameservers (recommended with Nisc Cloud hosting)

Best when your website and email are hosted with Nisc Cloud and you want one place to manage DNS.

1. Open your Hosting account → Overview tab.
2. Note the nameservers listed (often two or more hostnames like ns1.example.nisccloud.com).
3. Go to domain Nameservers tab.
4. Choose Custom nameservers or Use default if the dashboard fills Nisc Cloud NS automatically.
5. Enter each nameserver hostname exactly as shown in hosting Overview.
6. Save changes.
7. Wait 24–48 hours for propagation (many updates work within a few hours).

After propagation, manage records on the domain DNS tab or hosting DNS tab.

Use custom nameservers (external DNS)

Use when Cloudflare, Google Domains DNS, or your developer manages DNS elsewhere.

1. On Nameservers tab, select Custom nameservers.
2. Remove old Nisc Cloud nameserver entries if present.
3. Enter the nameserver hostnames from your external provider (usually 2–4 names).
4. Save.
5. At the external provider, recreate all A, MX, CNAME, and TXT records your site and email need.

Your domain DNS tab in Nisc Cloud may no longer apply until you switch nameservers back.

Switch from external back to Nisc Cloud

1. Copy or export records from the external DNS provider first.
2. Set Nisc Cloud nameservers on the Nameservers tab.
3. After propagation, re-add records on DNS tab in the dashboard.
4. Test website and email.

Check if nameserver change worked

1. Use an online DNS lookup tool (search “DNS propagation check”) and query NS records for your domain.
2. Compare results to the nameservers you set.
3. If old nameservers still appear everywhere after 48 hours, confirm you saved correctly and contact support.
