SSL certificates overview
Secure your website with HTTPS using SSL certificates on Nisc Cloud hosting and domains.
An SSL certificate enables HTTPS the padlock in the browser so visitors know their connection to your site is encrypted. Search engines also favor HTTPS sites.
Nisc Cloud offers SSL for domains and hosting you manage in the dashboard.
When you need SSL
- Any website collecting passwords, forms, or payments
- Business credibility (browsers warn on HTTP sites)
- Email and webmail hostnames
- SEO and modern browser requirements
Types of SSL

Order paid SSL on nisccloud.com if required; free options may be included with hosting.
Enable SSL on hosting
For shared or WordPress hosting:
- Follow Enable SSL on hosting.
- Force HTTPS in WordPress or
.htaccessafter certificate is active.
For VPS, VDS, dedicated:
- Follow Install SSL on your server with Certbot or purchased cert.

Troubleshooting HTTPS
- Certificate mismatch cert must match domain name in browser URL
- Mixed content site loads HTTP images/scripts; update URLs to HTTPS
- Not secure warning certificate expired; renew under SSL or hosting tools
After enabling SSL, wait a few minutes and hard-refresh browser (Ctrl+F5).
